Merino Wool Blend Tapered Headband — 4.5” Wide and 20.5" around

Stay cozy, dry, and adventure-ready with our Merino Wool Blend Headband — a handcrafted essential designed for Alaskan winters and everyday wear alike. Measuring approximately 4 inches wide with a tapered back, this headband offers a snug, comfortable fit that stays put whether you’re hiking, skiing, or strolling downtown.

Lined with luxuriously soft merino wool, it naturally regulates temperature — keeping you warm in the cold and cool when you start to heat up. Merino’s breathable fibers wick away moisture, so you’ll stay dry and comfortable no matter how active your day gets. Unlike traditional wool, merino is incredibly soft and itch-free, making it gentle enough for all-day wear against your skin.

Layer it under a hood or helmet for extra insulation, or wear it solo to keep wind and chill at bay. Whether you’re chasing northern lights or morning coffee, this headband is built to move with you — handmade with love in Alaska for warmth that feels just right, every time.

Frequently Asked Questions

How big are your classic headbands? Will they fit my head?
Most of our headbands are at least 18.5" around and 3.5" wide. They fit most head sizes but if you find that most headwear is too tight for you, these might be as well. The twist bands, fleece headbands and wool lined headbands are made larger so try one of those!
Do you design your fabric?
I design a lot of the fabric and you can find those designs in the "happy AK designs" category here:  https://happyak.com/collections/happyak
Will these headbands stay on my head?
The most feedback I get about my headband is that they do not slip like other headbands. I purposely taper the back of the headbands to help them slip less. However, I think a lot of times people experience their headband slipping has to do with how you wear the headband. Make sure you keep the headband down on your forehead a little bit. The more you push it back on your head, the more likely it will slip.
